5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading for Nazareth Fans by TwentySmallCigars on Sept. 16 2016
If you are a fan or collector of Nazareth, this book is a must-own. It contains a complete discography including info on all releases including variants on the CD releases over the years.
Also, it is not just merely a list of catalogue numbers and facts but very is well-written and easy to read.
Hats off to Robert Lawson for a well-researched and entertaining book!

Exactly what the title says - "The Listener's Guide to Nazareth".
Great reference guide for serious Naz fans on the myriad of Nazareth releases for anyone looking to untangle quite a bit of the convoluted Nazareth catalog. Many album (CD) reissues have different bonus tracks, some worth seeking out while others are just "fake" edits etc that are a complete waste of time. I wish Robert had been in charge of the recent reissues so they were done right!
Additionally there is a lot of interesting info presented regarding what was going on with the band for each album. Covers some solo releases by Dan & Manny as well. I learned a lot that I did not know and have some record shopping to do thanks to this guide.
There are some spelling/grammar issues in spots but ignore those and you have a great read. I have to point out though that the illness which forced singer extraordinaire Dan McCafferty into retirement is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - not "Chronis Destructive Pulmonary Disease" as mentioned on page 192.
5.0 out of 5 stars A homerun for Robert Lawson. Best book on Nazareth out there! by J. Gallant on Oct. 6 2016

A project like this is obviously a work of love, and true passion for the subject matter. The minute details, the anecdotes and fan-level appreciation of the band's entire discography make for a great read! As someone who's only ever owned their greatest hits, Robert Lawson's book has inspired me to dig much deeper. Really, that's all you can ask for from something like this...highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 starsA Nazareth Book...At Last! By Michael T on 15 Nov. 2016
If there was a Classic Rock band that has been too readily ignored in terms of recognition then Nazareth would be up there, ready to be awarded one of the top prizes. Whilst the legions of fans across the world have devoured their albums and followed them on the road, there has never been the opportunity to savour a Naz book…until now.
The author of “Razama-Snaz: A Listener’s Guide to Nazareth”, Robert Lawson took on this project appreciating that there would be a mountain of background work to do as the references for the book were scattered across countless sources, including the fans themselves. Two years of dedication for researching and countless hours listening to the band’s music have resulted in a valuable and worthwhile reference for not just serious Naz fans but also many who have a love of Classic Rock and perhaps just a couple of Naz albums and now want to delve a bit deeper.
The book is a chronological history of the recordings of the band including all the material that never made it onto the albums, including all the details about the reissues and their bonus tracks (or otherwise), plus related information with regard to tours for each album. What gives the reader extra insight are the very valuable and interesting comments from fans who readily give their thoughts, recollections and anecdotes of their own life’s journey with Naz.
In addition to being a valuable reference of the band, throughout the book the author gives his thoughts and opinions on albums and tracks. You may nod your head in agreement, you may take issue with his stance but music is perhaps more about opinion than anything else. Yes, there are some statements that could be taken as somewhat controversial but then who hasn’t taken part in a lively discussion with fellow music fans about some facet of a band?
The book will not just fill in the gaps of your knowledge of the band, even staunch fans will most likely find a little gem, but also to contrast your thoughts with those of a very dedicated writer and fan. Congratulations on bringing a Nazareth book to life at last. Let further discussion begin.
