This hard driving Los Angeles funk collective kicked off their dynamite 95 minute 15 song set with a blistering ten minute istrumental immediately filling the dance floor. Also played were their early single "Funky Nassau, a magnificent show highlight version of "Sophisticated Honkey", "Who Knows Who" and an impressive cover of "Break In The Road".
Guitarist Sergio Rios tore stinging notes from his axe while throwing himself whole heartedly into the music. New vocalist Niki J Crawford (replacing the departed Fanny Franklin) did well to endear herself to the crowd on the ten songs she was present for.
Also played were "Say Goodbye" and "Don't Stop"  from the upcoming New You album, going over just as well with the audience as the established tracks.
Missing was their killer cover of The Meters' "Ain't No Use".
  Maybe next time.
